Java / Kotlin Backend Developer

At Starfish, we're on a mission to revolutionize the FinTech industry, and we're looking for an experienced Java/Kotlin Backend Developer to join us as freelancer (based in EU or South America, 100% remote, min. 3 months) on this exciting journey.

Your role in our universe 🪐

Our development team focuses on building and maintaining integrations with PSPs as well as processing pipelines for payment data to enhance payment data reconciliation. They also design intuitive UI portals for payment management, while ensuring reliability through rigorous testing, monitoring, and continuous updates.

Your main tasks are:

  • Back-end software engineering in Java and Kotlin

  • Quality assurance measures

  • Pull request reviews

Your star qualities 💫

  • You are familiar with the following stack:
        - Kotlin, Ktor, Exposed, Arrow
        - Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Spring Batch

  • You have experience in the payment industry

  • You thrive on development, refactoring, debugging, testing, and exploration in an agile, international team setting

  • You have a keen eye for quality and are meticulous and structured in your work

  • You're always open to learning new things and diving into unfamiliar topics

  • You're a team player with a proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in English
